Food safety tips for your Memorial Day - Hometown Stations

The unofficial start to summer is just around the corner and health officials want to make sure you stay healthy during your Memorial Day festivities.

Families will be enjoying each others company while eating. While you prepare and cook, be sure to keep your area clean. Wash your hands often and wipe down your food prep station. Make sure to cook your meats to temperature, especially ground meats to kill any bacteria, and keep your cold foods cold. The danger zone for bacteria growth is 40 to 140 degrees depending on your food.
