You May Not Need a Passport to Travel Internationally Soon - MSN
Imagine if you didn’t have to unearth your passport or driver’s license from the bottom of your bag every time you needed it at the airport. Well, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) wants to make that a reality with a document-free, biometric identification process on a global scale. That means your ID will be on you at all times, so you’ll never forget it or lose it!
The project, called One ID, aims to give travelers a smoother experience, increase airport efficiency, and provide enhanced security. The plan “proposes face, iris or fingerprint recognition to seamlessly move passengers from curb to gate,” Alexandre de Juniac, director general and CEO of IATA, stated on the organization’s website.
