A recent Toronto Star investigation tracked organic milk production and found it is no healthier than cheaper conventional milk. While Canada’s organic dairy farmers do some things differently than their conventional colleagues, it’s not reflected in the end product in Ontario.
Many organic milk buyers believe they’re getting a purer, more natural product with no additives, like antibiotics or hormones. Federal law, however, prohibits antibiotics and growth hormones in all milk.
