With a multitude of candy being handed out, children with food allergies are unaware of what the sweet treats may contain.
Let's face it, Halloween means one thing for most kids -- the candy. For others, the sweets are the scariest part.
There's a push this year to add a different kind of Halloween decoration to the front of your house, a pumpkin painted teal! If you spot one, know they're not just for decoration, the teal pumpkin is a signal for children with food allergies, so they know where they can find safe treats.
"They can't take any of the candy because they feel like they can't participate because they can't eat it," explained Alison Van Winkle
