One way is to eat a mostly vegetarian or plant-based diet. The idea of a mostly vegetarian type of diet is to eat plant foods, such as vegetables, whole grains, fruits, legumes, as well as seeds and nuts. What a mostly vegetarian or plant-based diet means is that plant foods/vegetables are most of what you eat but not necessarily everything you eat.

Foods to avoid on a ketogenic diet are wheat, rice, corn, and cereal. You also want to avoid sugar, honey, syrups, apples, bananas, oranges, potatoes, yams, and legumes.

Foods you can eat on a ketogenic diet include fish, beef, lamb, and chicken. Veggies such as broccoli, kale, cauliflower, and spinach. Cheese, cream, and butter as well as seed and nuts. Also, raspberries, blackberries, and other low sugar impact berries. Finally, fats such as olive oil and coconut oil.

This diet also has many health benefits such as lower blood sugar levels, losing weight, better mental performance, increased energy and more.
