Enjoy the flight: New FAA legislation portends improved air travel - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Congress finally has acted to bring more order and safety, if not comfort, to air travel
With passengers contorting themselves into shrinking seats, airlines dragging travelers from overcrowded planes and mounting controversy over animals in the cabin, Congress finally has acted to bring more order and safety, if not comfort, to air travel.

Recently passed legislation setting Federal Aviation Administration funding for the next five years also requires the agency to establish minimum standards for leg room on commercial airliners, prohibits airlines from bumping passengers once they’re on board, bans the placement of live animals in storage bins and directs the FAA to set policies for support animals in the cabin.
