Confessions of the World's Top Travel Fixers - MSN
The best concierges and travel specialists make it seem like nothing is impossible. A scavenger hunt across half a continent? No problem. Access to one of the most exclusive member’s clubs in the world? Sure thing. But behind the scenes, it can often take a village to pull these requests off. We’ve pulled together a few stories that show quite how remarkable some asks can be—and what it took some of the most sought-after concierges and travel fixers to fulfill them, flawlessly, no matter how outlandish the task was.
Very special deliveries
“One regular client of mine was in Venice for the Biennale, and was traveling with around 20 friends and staying at a five-star hotel. While out sightseeing one day, her iPhone slipped from her fingers and landed in one of the canals. She was frantic, and the SOS came to me via her assistant back in Dallas. The assistant wanted to send a replacement iPhone via FedEx, but I told her that wouldn’t work, as I knew there would be issues at customs. Instead, she had the phone delivered to me, and I jumped on a plane to Venice [from the U.S.] so I could deliver it personally. I walked into the trattoria where the group was eating, and personally handed her that new phone.
