There is no scientific evidence to support many of the claims made for bone broth. For example, while bone broths do contain collagen, there is no evidence that consuming bone broths improves joint pain or improve skin. We love it though and make / eat it often during cold weather.
We cook grass fed beef bones in a slow cooker for 48 hours to make a savory bone broth. After 40 hours we add carrots, onions, and celery (mirepoix) and simmer for the last 8 hours. To make this soup we added a bag of Trader Joe's Melodious Blend - green garbonzo beans and red and green lentils.
